As the Asherah Shawl continues to be frogged, re-knitted, tinked and re-knitted again, (perhaps just a touch of OCD?) I am very happy that I chose the lovely Summerlite 4ply, it doesn’t ‘grab’ onto itself and is very forgiving at being torn apart on numerous occasions. A mini heatwave has been forecast for next week in the UK and the cotton lightness will ensure I’ll have no excuse for putting down the needles. With this in mind, as I enjoyed my lunch today, I took a little amble through the winding lanes of Pinterest for other cottony projects that may be of interest to those wanting to continue yarning without getting heatstroke.
Oh, and some ‘lovely’ person informed me that we are halfway to Christmas! Just thought I’d share that little nugget of info, no point feeling aggrieved on my own … lol.
Cotton yarns obviously don’t just suit the skills of knitting, their practicality, drape and softness, lend themselves to some wonderful crocheted projects too. Perfect for baby blankets, toys and clothes, and a wonderful alternative for anyone who may be sensitive to other fibres.
If you have never tried working with cotton yarn before, I do hope this small and rather eclectic selection, might encourage you to do so … Back soon with more shawl updates, until then … Happy Yarning Lovelies. ♥
