Ooh I Like That! …

pin-onWhen I am not yarning, thinking about yarning, writing about yarning, designing things to yarn, drawing vector logos or eating cake! … my precious time is spent drooling over my favourite Pinterest Boards.

The invention of Pinterest is second only to hot water bottles in it’s genius. How I remember (In that ‘wasteland of time’) before the Internet the joy of seeing all my favourite glossy magazines lined up on the newsagents shelves. Home’s & Gardens, Ideal Home, Cosmopolitan and Vogue. Each, positively heaving, with beautifully stunning images of interiors and fashions akin to the best of the photographic plates found in expensive ‘Coffee Table’ books. How these magazines were saved for, coveted, piled high in every spare space available and stuffed with post it notes.

As the years passed and life changed, first Cosmopolitan and then Vogue went by the wayside, having two toddlers and renovating various homes, ensured that time & funds became more limited but the ‘home interest’ publications remained a great source of inspiration.

Nowadays, that same inspiration is gleaned from the Pinterest World, with the added advantage that favourites are easily stored without taking up space or gathering dust. (And it’s free!)

The only downside, if it can be called that, is the overwhelming abundance of beauties available, just like all those patterns I want to knit/crochet/design, (living to 300 years will barely make a dent in that list!), there is little chance of seeing everything of interest. But an added joy is being able to share some of those favourites with others. Thus, every week I thought I would sprinkle some of that inspiration your way,  maybe I’ll have discovered something you have missed & we can all have an ‘Ooh I Like That’ moment together…

One of the tasks that many of us embark on, once the Christmas and New Year decorations are packed away, is to look to re-organising, refreshing and possibly redecorating areas of the home that suddenly appear untidy or dulled now the glitter has gone.

With that in mind, creative ideas for pretty storage are my Pin choices for today.
